Considered one of the top Chinese film actresses of modern times, Ziyi has managed to turn that into an international career, unlike her compatriots. First getting international recognition, and awards, for her performance in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, she continued a run of successes including Rush Hour 2, Hero, House of Flying Daggers, and Memoirs of a Geisha. All of these films received serious accolades, and Ziyi herself has been nominated for BAFTA and Golden Globe awards. In addition to acting, she has been a mentor on China’s version of The X Factor while being the international endorser for Visa, Maybelline, and currently, Omega Watches.
